Description
This is a top notch Thai chill that produces dense clusters of vibrant chillies. We produce these here in Florida on our family farm without any chemicals whatsoever. All of our seeds are Non-GMO.
This is the best Thai chilli variety that we have found. The Thai Dragon chilli can double as an ornamental chilli plant too because of its wonderful bouquets of fiery red and green tips mixed with transitioning green/red peppers set against beautiful glossy green foliage in a compact, dense bush. The bushy nature of this plant is superior both aethetically and logistically compared to the sprawling branchy format some other Thai chilli plants have. The Thai Dragon seems to produce quicker and more consistently than other Thai chillies we have tried. We have found other Thai chillies to be the slowest fruiting peppers, but these fruit on par with most other peppers.
You can fit more production in less space with these compact, dense plants. Thai Dragon chillies continue producing all year once they start, so even a single plant is likely to give you more peppers than the average person needs. Thai Dragon peppers also have a solid heat level, coming in at 50,000 to 100,000 SHU, making it about half the heat of a habanero. These peppers are great for eating fresh, known for their hard- hitting sting that dissipates quickly so you can experience the taste without the lasting punishment. As good as they are fresh, Thai Dragon peppers are just as good for drying. They have a thin wall like tabasco peppers that makes them easy to dry. You can use the ground chillies as a crushed red pepper as well, which is a good all- around level for someone who likes heat without having to sweat, pant and dry a runny nose. They are a little more tolerable for everyday use than Tabasco, Datil pepper or Desert Tepin, which we also offer.
